Jim Richmond gave a detailed 2-page-long overview of the game on Adrenaline Vault - his conclusion is “Blitzkrieg: Burning Horizon is an engaging and challenging addition to the front lines of real-time strategy”. Reviewer Alastair Ingason for Video Games Life has not skipped a single detail as well, talking on “an interesting story”, ”visual upgrades, new units to cherish, more maps to create craters on”, and AI that “has not escaped the update”. His final verdict is also very convincing: “All these features help build a very competent and well structured strategy title, which is a must for strategy purists”.

Its author Michael Eckenfels gives a close look to all the aspects of Silent Storm and concludes that “This game is a giant in turn-based tactical combat, easily taking over the reins of previous classics and in the process, defining new boundaries”. As the game got released in North America on January the 20th, Encore published the news that tells about “one of many eagerly awaited games debuting in 2004”, giving a short description of its “most unique features”.
