The studio will continue to operate under the Mail.Ru brand. It will report to Dmitry Devishev, former CEO of Astrum Nival, who has been named the VP of Games Development. Dmitry will oversee the development of client-based online games at Mail.Ru.
The team that created Allods Online has been retained in its entirety. The game debuted successfully in North America, Europe, and Russia, and is also being localized for other international markets. It was named the Best Game of 2009 and the Best Online Game of 2008 by the Russian Game Development Conference (KRI).
Mail.Ru also becomes the exclusive operator of Jade Dynasty (Zhu Xian), ZT Online, Perfect World II, Granado Espada, and Pirate King Online (branded locally as Piratia) in Russian-speaking territories.
